Step back in time and celebrate an historic Christmas at Churchill Island this year.
On December 23, The Friends of Churchill Island Society (FOCIS) present a follow on from last year’s successful play “Whispers from the past”.
The short dramatic performance introduces the Phoenix Singers.
The characters depicted in the play are Samuel Amiss, son of the builder, his wife Margaret and sister Maggie who are enjoying Christmas dinner back in 1890, when suddenly there is a group of carol singers at the door.
They are invited in and then the fun begins. The audience will be invited to join in to help with the singing.
“We are once again delighted to have Mike, Pip and Kate Cleeland playing the lead roles,” a FOCIS spokesperson said.
“All of the actors will of course be in costume so please feel free to come along dressed up as well as that would certainly add to the atmosphere.”
The date for this extravaganza is Saturday December 23 at 11am and 1pm in the Shearing Shed Churchill Island. Entry is free to the two performances.
“It promises to be an interesting and fun way to start off your Christmas week celebrations.
“Why not bring the whole family.”
