Royal Children’s Hospital says thank you
1 min read

The Good Friday Appeal team were on Phillip Island last week, to say thank you to the Appeal’s co-ordinators from throughout South Gippsland over a long period of time.

The thank you event was held in the theatre at the Penguin Parade, and attended by appeal co-ordinators and volunteers from across our region.

Executive Director of the annual appeal, Rebecca Cowan, described those present as “the backbone of our appeal.”

Cowes resident Helen Excell was recognised at the presentation for 35 consecutive years of fundraising for the annual Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. Helen hit the milestone in 2020, with well over $600,000 being raised in Cowes over that period.

Helen, with the help of her husband Reg and volunteers, worked tirelessly throughout those years to make sure that the whole community came together to support this important fundraiser annually.

The team from Woolworths was also recognised and thanked for their support of the Appeal over a long period.

Woolworths has been a major sponsor of the Good Friday Appeal over the last 25 years and the Good Friday Appeal team recognised that support and thanked them for their work ongoing commitment and contribution.
