1 min read

The Island's U17 girls got off to a flying start, scoring six goals before Bunyip's first, aided by Isla and Sophia's key intercepts and strong defence.

With some crucial intercepts and fantastic arms over pressure by Abbey and Tilly, by the end of the second quarter Phillip Island had extended their lead by 13-points.

Jasira's movement in the defensive circle provided many turnovers aided by Jazz and Maya, driving the ball back down the court to the Island's end with some excellent passes straight into Matilda and Meika where they excelled in goals.

Despite tough opposition, the girls maintained a strong lead throughout the game, their strategy, teamwork and positivity on the court secured a hard-fought victory.

Best on court: Jazz Mau and Jasira Derham.

Scores: Phillip Island: 46 def Bunyip: 24.
