Retiring Newhaven College Vice Principal Jason Scott was recently honoured for his dedication to Rotary youth programs.

Throughout his tenure, Jason was not only a respected educator but also a passionate advocate for Rotary Youth Programs, which the local club said significantly enhanced opportunities for students to engage with these transformative initiatives.

Brian Holloway, a member of the  Rotary Club of Phillip Island and San Remo, said that Jason's deep understanding and commitment to his students allowed him to thoughtfully select those who would benefit most from these programs.

"He knows his students extremely well," said Brian

"Jason's support for a range of Rotary programs has left an indelible mark on the Newhaven College community.

"He was a strong proponent of the Rotary Model United Nations Assembly, where students debate global issues, honing their diplomatic and critical thinking skills.

"Additionally, Jason championed the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards, which focuses on developing leadership potential in young people, and the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness program, which educates students on safe driving practices," Brian continued.

"Jason's advocacy extended to the Rotary Youth Program of Enrichment, aimed at helping young people build self-confidence and leadership abilities, and the National Youth Science Forum, which provides students with opportunities to engage in advanced scientific learning and research."

In recognition to  his unwavering commitment to these programs, the Rotary Club of Phillip Island and San Remo recently honoured Jason, congratulating him on his retirement.

At the presentation, the club expressed deep gratitude for his role in ensuring that Newhaven College students consistently participated in these valuable programs, which Rotary trusts have significantly enriched their educational experience and personal development.

Acknowledgement of Jason's dedication to education and his support for Rotary Youth Programs was met with enthusiastic applause from all members of the Club.

"As he begins this new chapter in his life, the Rotary Club of Phillip Island and San Remo extend their heartfelt gratitude for his years of service and wish him every success in his retirement," Mr Holloway said.
