Come and enjoy a fantastic community day on March 16, and create your own passata.
Hosted by Kara Williams, a local private chef, at Chippn Estate in Woolamai, the day will involve creating delicious tomato sauce from tomatoes grown on the farm.
"Let's make tomato passata sauce together on the permaculture farm, where the tomatoes are grown organically under the Bass Coast sun," invited Kara.
"This is an interactive event to come together as a community, learn, get involved, connect, share stories, have some fun together, and then eat together, Italian style."
Kara is running the event in conjunction with the owner of Chippn Estate, Shane O'Keefe.
Tickets are now available online, and each participant will receive:
- Coffee and cake on arrival.
- Hands-on and inclusive experience (or feel free to watch).
- Two x 750ml organic homemade passata sauce bottles to take home.
- Plate of pasta with freshly made tomato sauce for lunch at 12 pm.
There will also be live music and "fun vibes", said Kara.
There is plenty of parking on site, but everyone should wear "comfortable shoes, as we are on a farm".
The Big Italian Bass Coast Sauce Day on March 16 runs from 9am until 12.30pm at Chippn Estate, 2 Clementis Road, Woolamai.
