Woolamai Beach Surf Life Saving Club (WBSLSC) is holding a Community Native Plants Working Bee and Beach Cleanup Day on January 25, from 9am to 12pm.

Organised in collaboration with Phillip Island Nature Parks, the free day is focused on the importance of sand dune regeneration and coastal conservation.

One session will focus on watering indigenous native vegetation and weeding non-native vegetation, to stabilise the sand dunes, ensuring the coastline's long-term health, as well as repairing wooden stake and rope fencing.

In another session, participants will engage in a beach cleanup, collecting litter and debris to protect local wildlife.

The event will conclude with an educational session for youth participants on environmental stewardship, led by experts from Philip Island Nature Parks.

The event is free, but registration is essential.

Please bring a hat, sunscreen, gloves (various sizes provided if you don't own gardening gloves), sturdy shoes, a reusable water bottle, and a packed lunch.
