Several businesses across Phillip Island and San Remo were closing yesterday, hit by staff shortages due to Covid-19.

At the time of going to press, Hotel on the Cowes Esplanade was closed until further notice “due to health and safety concerns not only for our staff but everyone”.

The San Remo Post Office and newsagent closed after staff were notified as close contacts.

“As there are no Rapid Antigen Tests available, to make sure that we are doing the right thing by the community and ourselves all of us are heading for a PCR today,” post office management said on social media.

“I’m not sure when we will be opening but I will keep posting.”

San Remo IGA said they would suspend home deliveries “for the time being due to Covid and the number of staff members we have isolating at the moment”.
