San Remo Hotel Motel is once again hosting their annual Big Freeze event in support of Fight MND on Sunday June 11.
The day includes a dunk tank, raffles, and a live auction – and looks set to be bigger and better than ever.
The action all kicks off at 2pm with live music taking the event into the evening.
Some brave souls have already signed up for the Big Freeze challenge, with hotel staff including the hotel’s venue manager Bill and head chef Nola leading the way.
They’ll be joined in the icy water by Chris Ross, president of the Phillip Island Football Netball Club and Sharon Munday, principal of Newhaven Primary School. Cr Rochelle Halstead is also taking the plunge, and one of the hotel’s local regulars, “Freddo”.
Helping with the fundraising efforts will be some fantastic prizes, including a raffle of hampers from San Remo IGA, and auctions of some exclusive football memorabilia.
It’s sure to be a great day for all the family, with MND merchandise on sale, plus a sausage sizzle, provided by San Remo Butcher.
Karma keg
Adding to the fundraising efforts is a Karma Keg on June 8, from 5pm – 6pm.
Come in an enjoy any tap beer of your choice – then decide what you’ll pay for it.
All the money raised by the karma keg and on Sunday will go to Fight MND.
Last year’s Big Freeze event raised over $13,000 and the hotel is hoping to top that with this year’s event.
