New scam warning
1 min read

Bass Coast College have sent out a warning to parents, students and staff last week about a new App Scam.

The community is being targeted to upload this app, which then allows the individuals involved to disable your phone and access your information.

The App is called ZOHO Assist.

The scammers are getting people to download the App, in order to access your devices.

Scammers are posing as Netflix, Telsta and other services to gain your trust.

Usually with scam Apps they are easy to remove and automatically block all connections to international countries, but with this new App, it is able to get into your phone easily as the App is technically verified by PlayStore.

Once the App is installed it is very hard to remove.

The App can be used to control your phone, access files and send phone content to other devices.

If you fall victim to this, people should contact their local IT store to remove the App right away.
