Still time to hit the pool
1 min read

The annual VicSwim program, which runs during the first three weeks of January is underway, and it’s not too late to get involved.

The Cowes program runs both at the beach and at Cowes Primary pool and bookings can be made online.

Victorian drowning rates have increased in recent years and Aquatics Recreation Victoria (ARV) is encouraging families to get involved in the program.

The three-week swimming program runs statewide during the first three weeks of January, with a simple goal: to teach children water safety and swimming skills in an affordable and accessible way in pools, at beaches, rivers and lakes. And the best part is, it’s not too late to get involved in the fun!

“VicSwim Summer Kidz Program is available to all Victorian children aged 4 to 12 years,” said Kathy Parton, ARV CEO.

“Our amazing swim teachers are ready to welcome you and your children to a location near you.

“We want to ensure children across Victoria have the opportunity to across this program.”

The VicSwim program allows parents to book their kids in to one, two or three weeks of lessons, for just $35 per week (additional venue fees may apply).

Kids aged 4-12 can attend and parents can book a program based on their current swimming skill level.

“We are encouraging Victorian families to enrol in VicSwim's final week of lessons, commencing on January 15.

Don’t miss this opportunity to sign your kids up for an essential program.
