Rotary Music Scholarship

The Rotary Club of Melbourne has launched the Rotary Victorian Music Scholarship, a new initiative designed to support Victoria's most promising emerging musicians.

With a total prize pool of $10,000 it provides financial support for tuition, instrument purchases, travel for performances, and other essential career-building expenses.

First prize: $5000, second prize: $3000, third prize: $2000

Shortlist will be announced in May with a showcase and awards night in June.

Applications close April 30.


Coastal grants

Applications are open for the Coastal Public Access and Risk Grants Program, to improve coastal access and safety at Victorian beaches.

Grants of up to $150,000 are available for coastal Crown land managers, including volunteer committees of management and local governments, to reduce coastal risk through identification, mitigation and monitoring of risks.

Light Box Lane: EOI now open

Calling all artists! Expressions of Interest for exhibitions for Light Box Lane for next year are now open. Light Box Lane is an outdoor gallery for images and sound located in the western lane of The Union Theatre in Wonthaggi.

"It's a fantastic 24-hour exhibition space with so much potential for creative and diverse exhibitions. I encourage anyone who has an idea for an exhibition to check it out and submit an expression of interest," Cr Halstead said.

Rabo Community Fund 

Applications to apply for funding from the Rabo Community Fund in 2025 have opened to rural and regional community organisations and initiatives making a meaningful contribution to 'the bush'.

To be considered, eligible applicants must have an initiative that aligns with addressing one of the six key themes. The organisations applying must be Australian based with an Australian Business

Number (ABN), and the minimum investment amount per initiative is $5000.
