Cowes Primary School held their Senior School Music Concert at the Cowes foreshore last Thursday night.
The school has been unable to conduct the concert since 2019 due to Covid restrictions and Principal Rodney McKenzie said it was wonderful to bring the school community together once again.
Under perfect skies, students from Years 3 to 6 put on an absolute extravaganza of music and dance, performing hits from artists such as Lizzo, Ed Sheeran, Queen, Baker Boy and many more.
The night was a huge success with over a 1000 people dancing and singing along to the performances on stage.
“Mr Nolan and the student performers have put in a huge amount of work over recent months, and it was wonderful to see it all come together,” said Mr McKenzie.
The beaming smiles on the faces of all students was indicative of how much they enjoyed performing for their family and friends.
The students also loved seeing school staff up on-stage taking part in the highly anticipated ‘staff dance’ which was choreographed by Tessa Johnston.
“It was such a joy to be back on stage and performing for an audience again.” said the school music teacher Mr Nolan.
