Year 9 is an age when young people can disconnect from schoolwork and seek time for self-discovery and broader experiences beyond the classroom. The separate Year 9 Centre provides a variety of teaching styles and keeps students active and engaged to enhance their academic and personal growth.

Quality education from Prep to Year 12
A small school with a big heart, at Newhaven College we create an intimate environment where every student is known, seen and heard so that a strong sense of belonging and care is a feature of their time with us.
Junior School
Our Junior School takes pride in nurturing Prep to Year 4 children in their early years of learning, with the aim of producing happy, considerate, empathetic and well-rounded young people.
Small class sizes and a strong academic focus in a caring and values-based environment allow young learners to develop confidence, resilience and a ‘have a go’ attitude.
Middle School
Newhaven College offers Year 5-6 students a range of both academic and practical experience to ensure full engagement with their learning, while the Years 7 and 8 curriculum is designed to challenge and engage students while building a strong foundation for further study.
Year 9 Learning Centre
The Year 9 Environmental Centre program is exciting, challenging and stimulating. Students step outside the classroom to connect with the world around them, providing relevance and value to their learning, which enhances academic development and personal growth.
Senior School
Years 10 to 12 at Newhaven College are the crucial years where previous learning, increasing confidence and a greater sense of their place in the global community culminate to shape young people’s future directions. Our ethos is based upon mutual respect between teacher and students, in which high standards of social and academic expectations are actively encouraged.
We cater for individual differences among students and place great importance on strengthening each student’s self-esteem and sense of community. Our aim is to equip each individual with the qualities required for good citizenship and the confidence to contribute.
Co-curricular Opportunities
Newhaven College students build self-confidence and team spirit through an extensive range of co-curricular opportunities. Every student is encouraged to embrace new experiences and immerse themselves in College life by participating in co-curricular activities that complement the academic program.
This includes music, dance, drama, the Surfing Academy, equestrian team, House competitions, interschool sport, cultural events, Duke of Edinburgh and Compass Awards, public speaking and debating, language studies and international tours.
