The ADF Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award being presented to Sienna Macmillan (second from right). The Melbourne University Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars' Program award was given to Edward Spiteri-Stevens and Makayla Oates.

Year 10 Key Learning Area awards were given out in a range of different subjects. English: Sienna Macmillan (English) and Maeve Wilkinson (Literature). Health and PE: Makayla Oates and Holly Williams. Humanities: Anabelle Bremner (Business/Commerce) and Maeve Wilkinson (Humanities). The Japanese language award was given to Harvey Welsford. Mathematics: Hope Oates (Maths) and Oliver Thomas (Maths Extension). Science: Sebastian Kenny (Life Sciences) and Jack Sim (Physical Sciences). Technology: Arieta Fergie took out both Food Studies and Materials Technology awards. The Arts: Sharlotte Hogan (Visual Arts) and Jack Sim again (Performing Arts).

The Year 11 Dennis Vague Special Award was presented to Lucy Aylett and Chilli Cabello.

Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards were presented to Year 11 VCE students: Judson Battye, Henry Ferguson, Chilli Cabello, Lana Brusamarello, Isabella Gude and Georgia Hamilton. The awards were presented by outgoing Principal Ross Bramley (centre). "I want to congratulate all of those students today who have been recognised for their outstanding effort, and outstanding achievement," Mr Bramley said.
Last Thursday, Bass Coast College held their Year 10 and 11 presentation ceremony at their school stadium.
Year 10 and 11 student leaders were celebrated for their efforts towards the school and community, while well over 100 students were congratulated on their outstanding effort and throughout the year and their excellent academic performance.
Incoming 2025 Wonthaggi Campus Principal, Alison Gill, opened the ceremony with a glowing reflection and acknowledgement of the fine achievements of her school community.
"We gather today to celebrate the incredible achievements, efforts and spirit that makes Bass Coast College such a special place to learn and work," the campuses' new Principal said.
Awards were given for both academic effort and excellence, general contribution to the school community, and specific achievement in key learning areas. Ms Gill also highlighted the school's senior female netball team, who this year took home the College's first School Sport Victoria State Championship.
"These moments remind us not only of the talent in our school, but also the joy that comes from working and celebrating together. As we look ahead, I encourage each of you to keep striving in your goals, whether it's on the field, helping a friend, or trying something outside of your comfort zone," Ms Gill said.
"Let's take a moment to celebrate each other. Be proud of what you've accomplished, and let's continue to build a positive culture of learning and respect."
Of the year 10 students, Cale Hooper and Alexandra Jaskula were presented with the Coordinator's Awards. Many other students across year 10 and 11 were celebrated for their achievements and efforts throughout the year.
Outgoing campus Principal Ross Bramley closed the celebration with an address to the students and school community about motivation.
"I want to congratulate all of those students today who have been recognised for their outstanding effort, and outstanding achievement," Mr Bramley said.
The campus principal also noted that while certain students were presented with awards on the day, every pupil was encouraged to reflect on what they could be proud of throughout the year.
"If you have done your absolute personal best this year, congratulations, well done. If you haven't, next year is the year for you," Mr Bramley said.
"Embrace the opportunities that will come to you next year and attack it with motivation and drive."
