
It was a busy week for local firefighters, including storm clean ups, assisting with a fire on French Island and responding to local calls, including one in Church Street on Sunday.
Phillip Island Fire Brigade responded to a vehicle accident at the Grand Prix circuit last Tuesday at 10am.
Following the storm on Tuesday evening, one truck and five members helped SES volunteers clean up fallen trees in the Grantville area, with crews then on standby on Wednesday to help the SES.
On Thursday at 3.30am three trucks and eight volunteers battled a grass fire in a paddock on Smiths Beach Road, which was brought under control by 6am.
They also attended a house fire at Smiths Beach on Thursday afternoon.
Later that day four volunteers joined other fire fighters on French Island, battling a blaze that started on Wednesday.
Over the weekend crews responded to a fire at a property in Church Street, Cowes.
