A very traditional Christmas
1 min read

The Friends of Churchill Island Society hosted an end of year event for 2023, with two performances at the shearing shed on Churchill Island, on December 23.

Locals Mike, Pip and Kate Cleeland depicted the main characters, Samuel Amiss, son of the builder of the Churchill Island Homestead, his wife Margaret and sister Maggie.

The dramatic performance introduced the Phoenix Singers - who arrived to perform carols for the family.

The audience at the two performances were able to join in the Christmas spirit, and the carol singing.

"The show was a delight and the singing was awesome so all in all it was a most enjoyable morning/afternoon for the players and the audience," a FOCIS spokesperson said.

"The weather was on side, lovely and sunny and I believe that the cast of the shows should be congratulated on their performance."
