Record breaking Rea
1 min read

Jonathan Rea made history when he secured his sixth consecutive World SBK title in a stunning fightback in Portugal on the weekend.

Rea finished in fourth place, with Toprak Razgatlioglu winning the race, but that was enough to secure him the championship.

His wife Tatia and two boys watched on from home.

“In a year with so much uncertainty and restrictions you raised yourself even higher than I thought you could go,” posted Tatia on Instagram after the race.

“You keep aiming for the stars and ending up beyond them. We are so damn proud of you on and off the track.”

She said the family couldn’t wait to have him home.

“You are everyone’s hero in 2020.”

Tatia, Jonathan and their two boys have a home in Cowes and we’re sure their many Phillip Island friends are looking forward to celebrating Jonathan’s history making win next time they’re on the island.
