Reserves
The reserves travelled to face a fired-up Bunyip side who were looking to cement a finals berth.
It was James Nicolaci in the captain’s 150th appearance for the Phillip Island Football Netball Club who kicked the Bulldog’s first goal.
Unfortunately, it would be the last major for the Dogs for some time as they were outclassed and outmuscled by their opponent.
Blake Christopher, Cooper Logan and Arie Cook continued their good 2022 form and Dean Blake and Connor Thompson were providing resistance and sparked the Bulldogs in the third quarter.
The spark wasn’t enough however as Bunyip took control in the final quarter.
Sam McRae was the pick of the defenders who battled hard all day under intense pressure which ultimately led to a disappointing afternoon for the Island.
