After a very competitive Saturday pennant season across the five divisions in the first year of Strzelecki South bowls region, Phillip Island successfully got six teams into the first week of finals.
We have two teams competing in Division 5 which has made for a competitive year between the two.
Congratulations to the selectors for this achievement and all members that played across the season.
Further congrats to selectors and for members stepping up, as following the teams being selected on Monday illness forced nine players out by Friday evening, so multi changes cross all divisions were required.
Our Tuesday pennant saw three teams compete across three divisions with hopes high following a flag in Division 1 last season.
However it was Division 2 who succeeded in getting into a knockout game against Inverloch on Tuesday February 21, so we wish them lots of luck and by now, it’s all over.
With only 18 points separating the top four teams on the ladder this would appear to be a situation where any of the four teams could win the flag.
