Bang Bang Bar and Restaurant, Eisen Property and McHenry Motors have jumped started the Phillip Island Boardriders Club (PIBC) season with a generous $5000 donation direct to the club.
This donation helped the club kick off their first contest coming out of Covid.
On Saturday, December 11, the club was in the water, hosting Aggregate 1 and Super Groms events, after the cancellation of their previous season due to coronavirus.
Patrick O'Garey from Bang Bang Bar and Restaurant has been a member of PIBC for over two decades. He was happy to hear contests could resume and he could play a part in making the season a strong one and show support to the club that supported him through the pandemic.
The first contest had a huge turn out with the next generation of surfers registering for super groms at Smiths Beach. A positive and fun day was had by all.
The club is looking forward to a successful season, with 200-strong membership numbers registered
Presentation night after the event was a great success with Santa making an appearance. A fun raffle raised over $600 and there were excellent speeches from all the winners!
