U12 Blue

The Blue pups hit the road for their first away game of the season against the reigning premiers, the Leongatha Parrots.

The coaches made sure the team was well warmed up on which was a very brisk South Gippsland morning.

Captain Kane revved his troops and the Blue pups started well with goals to Jackson Summerfield and Captain Kane in the first quarter.

Fierce tackling was the order of the day, led by Dex Goodall, Balin Riky, Sam Cole, Harvey Paterson and Zoe Meyer.

The pups put the foot down in the second quarter, piling on five goals.

Brax Schiebel, Jarrah Rutherford, Sonny Williams, Ryder Van Stensel and Roy Paterson all scoring majors.

Zac Ivey, Bohdi Cooper and Kai Sturt all getting goal assists.

Chuck Cameron, Jaxon Ramage and Bowie Edwards were all solid in defence, limiting the Parrots to one goal.

Liam Cleary and Dex Goodall created a great ruck combination allowing goals in the third to Harvey Paterson, Kai Denblyden and Will Patton, shutting out any chance of a Parrots fight back.

Brady Van Stensel, Fergus Tillotson and Mason Paxton all providing great run and skills to set up attacks.

The last quarter was an arm wrestle, with strong defence led by Sam Koole and Ned Matthews who held the Parrots at bay.

The blue pups ran out 10 goal winners in an all-round brilliant team performance.

Best on ground was Dex Goodall. Zoe Meyer, Jackson Ramage, Jackson Summerfield and Captain Kane Patton were the other award winners.
