Commendable finals effort by Island U16s
1 min read

In a gripping Grand Final marred by wet conditions, the U16s Wolfpack demonstrated immense courage and skill, though they ultimately fell short.

Warragul were a big, strong team and the boys battled bravely all day in conditions that suited the bigger bodies of Warragul.

The Wolfpack was unable to get its famous free flowing football into gear as the rain continued to bucket down for the duration of the game.

The match see-sawed in the first half and there was only a point in it at three quarter time.

Warragul managed to kick two crucial goals in the last quarter to snatch the victory.

The team finished on top of the ladder throughout the season but today was not their day.

A special thank you from the team to Cashy and the coaching staff for their dedication and guidance which made this season one to remember.

Best players: Archie Ross, Lachie Eastwood, Cade Wragg, Harry Carlon, Sam O'Garey and Harry Arceo.
