First competitors out of the water on Saturday morning on the Cowes foreshore, as the Little Penguin Dash got underway.

Among the enthusiastic participants in the eight year old Penguin Dash age group were Frankie Robinson, Macy Parker and Ari Cargill.

First out of the water in his age group heat was Lachie Dallinger, with his proud grandfather Pot Dallinger on the foreshore. Pot is famous for having competed in every San Remo Channel Challenge until his retirement just a few years ago. His granny Denise Magill (right) was also on the sidelines cheering him on.

Congratulating each other after competing in the Penguin Dash on the weekend in the ten year old category are Georgia and Abby Mueller; with Daisy Ingamells and Matilda Sainsbury, who were in the eight year old event.

Over 100 enthusiastic youngsters aged between seven and 14 competed in their age categories in the Little Penguin Dash, which preceded the Cowes Classic biathlon event held on the Cowes foreshore on Saturday.
Every competitor was a winner, presented with a medal at the finish line after finishing a 150 - 300 metre swim (depending on age) followed by a 500 metre - one kilometre run.
