September meeting date changed
1 min read

The date for the September Bass Coast Shire Council meeting has been changed.

Previously scheduled for Wednesday September 18, last week the council announced it would instead be run on Monday September 16 at 1pm, at the Civic Centre in Wonthaggi.

The date change is to enable councillors to vote ahead of the caretaker period, in the lead up to October local government elections, which starts on Tuesday 17.

A shire spokesperson explained the change was made "to avoid the 2024 election period".

"The State Government brought forward the election period start date so we had to move the meeting forward to enable decision making on the items," they said.

The agenda will be released on council's website on September 12.
