Cowes Coastcare is inviting the community to join them for a working bee on Sunday February 9, to clear sea spurge.
This toxic invader is in the dunes around Cowes and is currently in flower, so this is the best time to remove it, before the plants set seed.
Eradicating sea spurge has been an ongoing effort from the Cowes Coastcare team, with help from Year 9 students at Newhaven College who spent at least two afternoons last year clearing this weed.
The Cowes Coastcare team would really appreciate your help.
If you'd like to get involved, meet at the beach end of McHaffie Drive in Cowes, on Sunday February 9 at 10am. The working bee runs for two hours.
Please wear a sun hat and sunscreen, and bring a bottle of water.
Gloves and tools will be provided.
