Bass Coast College (BCC) San Remo Campus welcomed 130 new Year 7 students last Tuesday January 31.
Campus Principal Emma Harris said the new Year 7’s settled in well and have made a positive start to the year.
“The extensive transition program that ran throughout 2022 ensured that they were well prepared for the differences from primary to secondary school.”
New student Phoenix said, “San Remo has been really welcoming and everyone is friendly”, while Entayah is “looking forward to science” at the new campus.
“I was a bit nervous at first but realised I didn’t need to be” said Jye.
This year BCC has rolled out its new pastoral care program “Boost”.
All students from years 7 to 12 have an hour a week where lessons are focussed on organisation and study skills, respectful relationships, health and wellbeing, community, careers and personal goals.
Enrolments have been growing steadily across all year levels since the school opened in January 2022.
