The 360-metre coastal walk pathway being built at Cowes east between Rose Avenue and Coghlan Road is fast progressing.
The walk, to connect Cowes with Silverleaves, includes an eight-metre-deep wall which will protect the foreshore from erosion.
Trucks hauling tonnes of rocks have been travelling through Gordon Street, Broughton Avenue, Perry Street and Rose Avenue.
It is hoped the wall and walk will be finished by the end of July, weather dependent.
Stage one last year saw the construction of eight timber groynes and the total project costs with the rockwall is $3.35 million.
