Phillip Island Jazz supports students

Phillip Island Jazz is proud to acknowledge the commitment of music students from the junior and senior schools of Bass Coast College and Newhaven College through its annual awards program.

Phillip Island Jazz is committed long term to sponsoring these encouragement awards.

A spokesperson for Phillip Island Jazz said it was a pleasure to have Cr Ron Bauer present to at the All Day Jazz Extravaganza Event, but to also present the awards on behalf of Phillip Island Jazz.

Local students embarked on a brief presentation which was a display of their musical talents to date. The occasion presented an opportunity for the students to perform before a large audience, which will become a focal point of future Jazz Extravaganza Days.

Students receiving the encouragement awards were Thomas O'Mahony who plays alto saxophone, Dylan Cleary who played the euphonium and guitar, Georgia Sanders who plays drums and Jazmin Turton, a vocalist.

The individuals were nominated by the directors from music programs at both Newhaven and Bass Coast Colleges.

The Committee of Phillip Island Jazz wishes all students much success in the future as they follow their choice of music.
