Love the island? Plant a tree

Phillip Island Landcare has released its annual winter tree-planting dates, for those concerned about the increasing loss of vegetation on the island, or who just want to get their hands dirty.

The first session will be on  Saturday May 27, at the McFee farm where alongside tree planting there will be fence installation.

Following this, dates are:

  • June 3, Wiltshire Road, Ventnor;
  • June 17, Cowes Rhyll Road;
  • June 25, 1125 Phillip Island Tourist Road;
  • July 15, Watts Road, Ventnor – session 1; and
  • August 12, Watts Road, Ventnor – session 2.

Arrive 9.30am for a hot beverage in Landcare’s new camper trailer, before planting begins at 10am.

Wear appropriate dress for the weather, with sturdy footwear and gloves and BYO water bottle.

Afterwards enjoy a complimentary lunch, with seating and shelter.
