Library friends return

The Friends of Phillip Island Library (FOPIL) has returned, after being in hiatus during construction of the new cultural centre in Cowes.

With the help of the community, it now hopes to revitalise the group.

It is holding its AGM on Saturday March 23 at 10.30am in the new library at Berninneit, 91-97 Thompson Avenue, Cowes.

"Please come to the AGM, we really would appreciate your support," a FOPIL spokesperson said.

The group meets regularly and has a Book Chat monthly.

"Being part of a Book Chat group can be a wonderful way to connect with new people, spend time with friends, discover new reads, or revisit old favourites," the spokesperson said.

"We leave it to you to choose your books, and we find that listening to somebody who loves what they have been reading, makes us want to read it too.

"It is a great way to discover new authors, so please come along and share your love of reading with others. We look forward to meeting you."

Anyone interested in being part of FOPIL should contact Irene McKell on 0409 023 835.
