Grug is coming to Cowes

Get ready, families and young theatre enthusiasts – Grug is making his way to Berninneit for the school holidays, and it's a show you won't want to miss!

There will be two performances on Friday July 12, at 11am and 2.30pm, and the beloved character from Ted Prior's picture book series will come to life on stage.

Having already enchanted more than 50,000 children and families worldwide, this amiable little show is set to captivate audiences in Cowes. As The New York Times puts it, "He's like the Elmo of Down Under". Indeed, Grug's appeal is universal, bringing joy and laughter to all who see him.

Grug's gentle, imaginative storytelling and expert performance make it a standout production of puppetry and performance. As one review put it, Grug is "everything theatre should be: imaginative, expertly performed, and completely captivating".

This production from the Windmill Theatre Company and Queensland Performing Arts Centre's Out of the Box Festival is a must-see for the school holidays. Starting life as the top of a Burrawang tree that fell to the ground, Grug is a small, striped haystack with feet and a nose who is endlessly curious about the world around him. Whether he's inventing his own dance or finding creative solutions to everyday problems, Grug's adventures are a delightful mix of ingenuity and charm.

Don't miss out on this opportunity to experience Grug's whimsical world.
