New Bass Coast Community Foundation Directors at the final Board Meeting for 2022; Graham Scott, Sophie Bolding, Phil Friedlos (Chair), Polly Caldow, Sharyne Munday and Chelsea Caple.
Five new directors were welcomed to the Bass Coast Community Foundation Board in December, following retirement of long time directors John Walsh and David Admans.
Local representatives Chelsea Caple, Polly Caldow, Graham Scott, Sophie Bolding and Sharyne Munday joined the Board, bringing with them a range of skills in areas ranging from health and community development, education, sport, local business, and philanthropy.
Chair Phil Friedlos said the calibre of the new Directors reflected the incredible talent and generosity that exists in the Bass Coast community.
“As voluntary roles, joining the Board requires a significant investment of time supporting delivery of our strategic work in the community.
“We are absolutely thrilled to welcome such a diverse range of people to the Board who will inject new ideas and energy to this important work – we thank them all for their willingness to be involved and make a positive impact on our community,” he said.
The Foundation’s current focus in Bass Coast is on reducing the incidence and risk of homelessness and housing stress, increasing aspirations of young people, and providing opportunities for local women and girls.
The Foundation was founded in 2002 as a community owned, independent, and non-for-profit organisation, to provide a vehicle for sustainable long-term funding for community driven initiatives, and to make our local communities stronger, more resilient, and healthy.
