Hi, I'm Tully. Bass Coast is my home and I'm the only Monash candidate who grew up here and went to school here. My partner Dani and I live in Kilcunda with our kids, Daph and Ted. We love it here, and we love living so close to Sanny and the island.
I've got what it takes to get things done for our community because I've made a career out of leading teams to solve hard problems in business and government, and I've delivered real reforms to improve our country - like Australia's first wage theft laws.
And because I'm on the federal Labor team, you can count on me to get things done - unlike Liberals who say one thing then do another, and independents who promise everything and deliver nothing.
Over my lifetime, the island's permanent population has tripled in size from around 5000 to nearly 15,000. A community this big deserves more investment from all levels of government in new services and infrastructure.
The Victorian Labor Government has been true to its promise to deliver the new Phillip Island Community Hospital. That's a really good start. But we need more. Much more. And there's a clear case for federal co-investment.
Federal co-investment is needed to address road congestion between the Bass Highway, San Remo, and Cowes. I'll deliver it.
Federal co-investment is needed to get the long overdue Phillip Island recreation reserve and aquatic centre started. I'll deliver it.
Other candidates can make those promises, but after 20 long years of failed Liberal and independent representation in Monash, our communities have learned the hard way that we're only going to get things done with a new federal Labor MP in a Federal Labor Government.
At a broader level, you can count on me and a re-elected Albanese Labor Government to stand by Australians in these uncertain times, support households with the cost of living, and protect our Gippsland communities from Peter Dutton's risky nuclear fantasy, American-style cuts to jobs and services, and plan to end working from home.
Labor will keep building Australia's future after a decade of Coalition neglect with higher wages, lower taxes, more housing supply and help-to-buy, further energy bill relief, cheaper PBS medicines, free GP visits, permanent free TAFE, and the three-day childcare guarantee.
We can get things done for Phillip Island and stop Peter Dutton's cuts - but we must vote Labor.
