Easter came early at San Remo Primary
2 min read

San Remo Primary School was alive with excitement last week as the school hosted its much-loved Easter Hat parade and raffle.

The tradition brings together students, families, and teachers for a day of fun, creativity, and community. As a tradition it was made even more special by a surprise visit from the Easter Bunny, who hopped in to spread joy and Easter cheer, handing out chocolates to the family and friends.

The morning kicked off with the highly anticipated Easter Hat parade, where students of all ages proudly showcased their unique and colourful creations.

From bright, flowery designs to hats featuring playful bunnies, Easter eggs, and chicks, the parade was a delightful display of the children's artistic talents.

"It really is great to see our Grade 6 students showing our younger students how much fun we can have with these events and getting into it the way they did," Lauren Hamer, Inclusion and Wellbeing Leader said.

"It has shown great connections and a sense of belonging at our school for them."

Following the parade, the school's Easter raffle brought some more excitement.

With three different hampers of donated easter goodies, the raffle had something for everyone. The $1300 raised will go towards the school's Senior School Playground.

The highlight of the day, however, was the surprise visit from the Easter Bunny (Grade 6 student Reagan).

The lovable, fluffy character made a grand entrance, bringing smiles and laughter to everyone in attendance, said Lauren.

"The Easter Bunny was a hit with the kids, who got high-fives. The sight of the Easter Bunny hopping around added an extra touch of magic to the celebration, creating lasting memories for everyone present."

And it wasn't just the kids that enjoyed it. "That was so much fun," said the Easter Bunny (Grade 6 student, Reagan)

The Easter Hat parade, raffle, and the visit from the Easter Bunny all contributed to a fantastic day at San Remo Primary School.

"It highlighted the strong sense of connection and school spirit that defines the San Remo community. It really did top of the end of our first term nicely," said Lauren.

"We can't wait to see what next year's Easter celebration will bring - and of course, we're already looking forward to the return of the Easter Bunny!"
