Crugnale holds on to win Bass
1 min read

Labor have won Bass, with Jordan Crugnale retaining her seat.

Bass was the last seat to be called in the election, which defied media predictions and saw the Andrews Labor government returned to power with a majority government.

The predicted loss of seats did not occur, and the win in Bass gives Labor 56 seats - one more than the 55 seats it won in 2018's "Danslide" election.

The announcement of Labor's win in Bass came after a two day preference count was undertaken at Wonthaggi Town Hall on Thursday and Friday.

Sixteen VEC representatives, along with candidate scrutineers, were at the Town Hall.

it was an anxious wait for the Ms Crugnale, and the Liberal candidate Aaron Brown.

In the provisional results, Ms Crugnale was ahead by 211 votes (50.25 per cent), and in the final count, won the seat by 202 votes.

It is a big night for the Crugnale family, who are also celebrating Ms Crugnale's youngest son's graduation from primary school.
