The Cowes branch of the Country Women's Association on Saturday celebrated its 90th birthday and 55 years since their Cowes shop was built.
About 60 guests sat down to an afternoon tea of CWA treats at St Philip's hall, with historical displays and a vintage fashion parade.
The first meeting was called at the historic homestead Broadwater, on the Cowes east foreshore, on April 10, 1935, with the first president Florence Oswin Roberts.
The Cowes branch's birthday falls just seven years short of the Victorian launch, which was in 1928.
Today the Cowes branch has two groups, including the newer twilight group, which meets after hours for working women.
The CWA is not just known for their cooking and craft skills, but are a philanthropic organisation of women supporting women, children and families across Victoria.
