Multi-award-winning singer and Rolling Stone Woman of the Year, Clare Bowditch is coming to Bass Coast to feature in a very special performance.
Part of International Women's Day celebrations, the 100 Women, 100 Stories community choir project is at the Union Theatre in Wonthaggi on Sunday, March 16.
Described by organisers as "a soul stirring event" that will inspire and uplift the audience, voices from the local community will be onstage.
"We have gathered nearly 100 incredible women to take centre stage as part of 100 Women, 100 Stories," organisers said.
"Composed by six award-winning female musicians, this song cycle is inspired by the real-life stories of women from all walks of life.
"Over one transformative weekend, participants will learn and rehearse a collection of powerful songs."
The culmination will be a breathtaking performance on the stage of the Wonthaggi Union Theatre.
"This project is a powerful testament to the transformative role of arts, song, and culture in uniting communities and amplifying women's voices," said Mayor, Cr Rochelle Halstead.
"Through the universal language of music, 100 Women, 100 Stories celebrates the diversity, resilience, and shared experiences of women, while fostering a sense of connection and belonging.
"It's about more than just a performance - it's about inspiring change, honouring the stories that shape us, and creating a brighter, more inclusive future for all women and girls.
"We couldn't be more excited to see this magic unfold on stage at the Union Theatre, especially as part of our centenary celebrations," she said.
The event has been produced by council in partnership with Westernport Water, Phillip Island Nature Parks and Bass Coast Health.
"We have a long association with these organisations and of celebrating International Women's Day together and acknowledging the women in our community," Cr Halstead said.
To mark this special occasion, guests will be treated to an afternoon tea, with drinks available for purchase from the bar.
Experience the magic from the seats and cheer on these incredible women as they share their stories through music. Everyone is welcome - this is a day for everyone to stand together.
The concert starts at 3.30pm on March 16 at the Wonthaggi Union Theatre.
