Circles of Life on display
1 min read

The Circles of Life exhibition has been created collectively by students of local mosaic and ceramics artist, Heather Fahnle from Mosaics by the Bay, Ventnor.

The exhibition opens on January 24 (5pm to 7pm) at the Creative Arts Station in Cowes.

Students were given carte blanche on their own designs and ideas to create these circles which are made from ceramic tiles, glass, shells and/or porcelain crockery.

Many students have attended Heather's weekly classes for several years, learning and improving their skills as well as gaining the confidence to exhibit their work. The classes are more than just mosaic creations, they have become a space where students can share and discuss ideas, critique each other's work, offer support and a shoulder when needed over a cuppa and cake.

This is the second student exhibition that Heather has choreographed. The Birds of a Heather Exhibition was held at Yarram Courthouse in February 2024 which saw over 50 mosaic birds on display, with many pieces selling on opening night.

Heather offers half or full day workshops for anyone wishing to learn a new skill within an accessible and inclusive environment.
