Local Flood Guides for many locations across Gippsland and Victoria are available online, containing the most current information about flooding in and around your local area.
With all the recent rainfall, and floods across many parts of the state, now is a good time to check out the flood guide for your local area.
Local Flood Guides for many locations across Gippsland and Victoria are now available online, containing the most current information you need to know about flooding in and around your local area.
With rainfall predicted to be higher than average during this spring and catchments in many parts of Gippsland already saturated, it won’t take much additional rain to cause local flooding in some areas.
“Local Flood Guides are produced for communities which have a higher risk of flooding” said Merryn Henderson, VICSES Community Resilience Coordinator.
“They can help you better understand your flood risk, how flood warnings work and how to prepare yourself, your home or your business”.
Local Flood Guides are produced through a combined effort between VICSES, municipalities and Catchment Management Authority or water corporation.
“These really are handy little booklets and I encourage everyone to visit the VICSES website to see if there is one for their town” added Merryn.
