To celebrate the 10th anniversary of his last win on Phillip Island, Casey Stoner returns to the track this MotoGP.

On Sunday, fans can cheer him on during a 10th Anniversary lap, at 1.10pm.

Fans were elated with the news Casey was returning to the track which made him a legend, and excited to hear for the first time how he tackled the fast-flowing circuit.

A two-time world champion, Stoner’s first win on home soil in 2007 kick-started a run of six consecutive wins at Phillip Island, with 2012 marking the final time he’d stand atop the Australian podium.

As part of the 10th Anniversary celebrations, along with his friend and former MotoGP rider Chris Vermeulen, Casey rode to Phillip Island in the lead up to the 2022 MotoGP.

Riding Triumph Tiger Rally Pros, the pair started the journey from Carlton’s iconic Lygon Street, making the 140-kilometre trip down to the Island, making a video of their ride.

Casey and Chris shared a combined 13 Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix starts in the premier class at Phillip Island.

Casey’s career achievements include two MotoGP world titles (2007 and 2011) and six consecutive wins at his home Grand Prix at Phillip Island (2007-2012), alongside 38 MotoGP race wins.

He joined the premier class in 2006 with Honda LCR team and also rode for Ducati (2007-2010) and Repsol Honda (2011-2012).
