Candlelight Vigil returns
1 min read

Change for Sam, the organisation formed in the wake of Samantha Fraser's death in 2018, is hosting a Candlelight Vigil on Wednesday May 7, at the Jetty Triangle in Cowes, from 6.30pm - 8pm.

The event, in conjunction with Bass Coast Shire Council, will see the trees and buildings in the Jetty Triangle bathed in purple light, while along Thompson Avenue, and throughout the shire, buildings and businesses will be lit up in purple.

This is the third Candlelight Vigil organised by Change for Sam, part of a nationwide initiative from Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre, to remember and honour those who have been killed by domestic and family violence.

The vigil has a crucial role in raising awareness of family and domestic violence, and provides a platform to come together, share stories, spark hope and inspire change.

More details of the event coming soon, but the evening will include a sausage sizzle hosted by Rotary, music, and special guest speakers.

Mark the date in your calendar and please come and join in, as Bass Coast says no to family and domestic violence.
