The display at St Philip’s in Cowes will be up until New Year’s Eve, telling the story of the birth of Jesus and the real story of Christmas.
Undeterred by the wild weather last Friday, parishioners from St Philip’s in Cowes erected the Journey to Bethlehem display in the church grounds.
The display will be up until New Year’s Eve and contains six scenes telling the story of the birth of Jesus.
This year, the display has been extended to include a stable, and a replacement donkey has been made, after the donkey from last year’s display was stolen.
Everyone is invited to come on a “Journey to Bethlehem”.
“These days, so many don’t know the Christmas story, all they know is Santa, snowflakes and reindeers,” said a parishioner.
“We’re hoping with our display people will be reminded about the real story and where it all came from.”
