Why did Phillip Island on Thursday play host to the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 trophy?
Because the official mascot of the global event is a little penguin.
MP for Bass Jordan Crugnale welcomed the mascot, Tazuni, at the Penguin Parade, alongside Phillip Island Breakers Soccer Club players and committee members, who all had their photo with Tazuni and the trophy.
The Women’s World Cup 2023 will be hosted by Australia and New Zealand from July 20 to August 20, with 32 teams competing and the trophy visiting all competing nations.
