PICAL launches Term two course guide

Phillip Island Community and Learning Centre (PICAL) is excited to announce the launch of its term two course guide.

The guide offers a diverse range of programs designed to support lifelong learning, skill development and community connection.

The course guide includes job ready courses with a focus on practical skills and industry standards; hands-on workshops to develop and refine practical skills while also providing social interaction; as well as wellbeing programs that connect individuals and help them thrive.

Term two highlights include:

  • Chair yoga: A modified yoga practice performed while seated. Benefits include increased flexibility, strength and balance. Ideal for those with mobility issues or anyone seeking a gentle approach to yoga.
  • Italian and French cooking classes: Learn Italian and French cooking secrets with chef Tony Goodlet. Cook quality food then enjoy together as you discuss the meal.
  • Fix it cafe: An on-the-spot service where individuals can join in the fix and develop handyperson skills. Ideal for sewing machine, furniture, bike repairs and more; as well as assembling flatpacks.
  • Support groups including a carers support group that aims to provide a positive, understanding atmosphere with an emphasis on wellbeing and education.

The term two course guide shows how PICAL continues to provide accessible and engaging learning opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.

"We're proud of what our term two course guide has to offer. Our groups such as the women's walking and craft groups are ideal for those who want to do what they love while connecting with other like-minded people," says PICAL Centre Manager David Rooks.

"Whether you're looking to build new skills like learning how to use Canva, connect with like-minded people or simply want to try something new, our term two course guide is for you."

Enrolments are now open and places are filling fast. To explore a full range of courses and secure your spot visit www.pical.org.au or follow PICAL on Facebook.
