Phillip Island to host new Junior Pro event

Phillip Island turned on the weather (11 degrees, rain, gale-force winds) for the announcement of a new surfing tournament.

The Phillip Island Junior Pro will be a three day event starting on September 20 ... and hopefully the conditions will be a little friendlier!

CEO of Surfing Victoria Adam Robertson, local surfers Angus and Scarlett, Bass Coast Mayor Cr Michael Whelan and President of the Phillip Island Boardriders Club Hannah Eisen rugged up and faced the elements for the announcement.

The Phillip Island Junior Pro is 10,000 point event - one of four in Australia - and is a junior rankings event.

More details in this week's paper.
