Choppers check out electricity poles
1 min read

There will be helicopters circling estates across Phillip Island this week.

On Thursday, November 28, AusNet is undertaking aerial inspections (weather permitting), focused on areas around Surf Beach, Sunderland Bay, Newhaven, Cape Woolamai, as well as areas on the outskirts of San Remo and of Rhyll.

The aerial inspections are part of AusNet's schedule of inspections throughout the year, "to help identify, monitor and repair wear and tear on powerlines and poles," an AusNet spokesperson said.

"These routine aerial inspections help to support a reliable and safe electricity supply for communities across our network."

The AusNet helicopter will be flying in the areas highlighted by blue dots in the map below, capturing images of pole tops for assessment of potential issues.
