Put Pilates on your to-do list
1 min read

When was the last time you put “breathe” on your to-do list, or assigned it to calendar tasks?

Pilates is a time to focus completely on mind and body and an escape from the chaotic world that surrounds it. During practice, your mind is only responding to your instructor’s cues and assisting your body in strengthening poses. Pilates allows time to slow down, to breathe and simply be.

Pilates will not judge you, criticise or discriminate, it is a space in time where you can simply be YOU!

You don’t compete against others, the only challenge you’ll face is what is set by you as determined by your personal goals and growth.

How do you talk to your body? Did you know that your body hears everything your mind says, so you have the capacity to improve and drive the quality of your life based on the thoughts you have, so let's talk nicely to it.

There are many valid, scientifically backed reasons why Pilates is beneficial for your health and wellbeing such as:

  • Calming the mind
  • Sculpting the body
  • Creating new neural pathways
  • Developing proprioception (spatial awareness)
  • Improving core strength, stability, posture, and balance
  • Improving lower back pain

So, do you love a challenge? Are you sick of wishing for more time for yourself? Do you miss the feeling of calmness and flow of energy?  Then you’re already open to the possibilities granted to you by Pilates. These are reasons I am passionate about movement and whilst it is not always easy, it will be whatever you want to make of it.

If I can achieve anything as a teacher it is allowing my clients to share this passion and leave my class feeling grateful, having recognised their body and mind’s potential.
