Having successfully lobbied for a new community hospital, the Phillip Island Medical and Health Action Group (PIMHAG) have now turned their sights on mental health.

During R U OK? week in September, PIMHAG with the Phillip Island RSL will be running a forum to bring together local mental health services.

PIMHAG acting secretary Deborah Wilson said the forum would be annual and bring together practitioners to identify gaps in services, and how services can be accessed.

"There's a huge need here and travelling as far as the Latrobe Valley for many is not an option," Deborah said.

"We need to figure out how to streamline services and make them more user-friendly and accessible."
