Graham Burgan and Susan Fawaz presided over the Little Penguin Dash, which comprised of a 150 metre or 300 metre swim, and 500 metre or one kilometre run, depending on age, with over 100 competitors in five age categories competing.
Under 10 Penguin Dash competitors Ava Lucas, Daisy Gillingham, Jett Fawaz and Olive Callis. Jett was first home in this age group.
Volunteer mums Karli Di Paola and Caroline Wright were kept busy at the finish line presenting medals competitors.
Sixth generation islanders Lachlan and Archie Dallinger with their grandfather Pot Dallinger, who holds the distinction of being the only person to compete in all 38 Channel Challenge events, and was a regular at the Cowes Classic over the years. The boys look like following in their grandad’s footsteps with Lachlan (right) first over the line in the Under 8 event.
Peta and Mardi Strachan, Heidi and Emma Szymanski, and Eden Blake, take a well-earned rest after the 11/12 year old Penguin Dash event on Saturday.
