Celebrating 150 years of education
1 min read

This year, Cowes Primary School proudly commemorates a remarkable 150 years of educational excellence since its establishment in 1874.

Last Wednesday, the school embraced its rich history by inviting students to don 1800s attire, stepping back in time to experience a day without modern technology.

Throughout the day, students engaged in a variety of activities that harkened back to simpler times, forgoing pens and digital devices to immerse themselves in traditional games. The school also hosted lively bush dancing sessions, celebrating the cultural heritage of the region.

The festivities culminated in an enchanting afternoon as parents joined their children for an old-fashioned bush dance, accompanied by the humorous and melodic tunes of the Billy Tea Band. This memorable event not only honoured the school's storied past but also fostered a sense of community and connection among families and students alike.
